A teenage girl who woke up naked at a house party found out at school that videos of her being sexually assaulted had been shared on social media.
Boys from her Gold Coast school had filmed themselves violating her and passed the videos around on Snapchat, parliament heard.
Liberal Member for Mudgeeraba Ros Bates recounted that case and several others while highlighting an epidemic of sexual violence in Queensland.

Other shocking cases highlighted by Ms Bates include an 80-year-old woman who was sexually abused by an employee at her retirement home.
A 60-year-old woman was drugged and raped by her husband while unconscious, and a 20-year-old moved into a Gold Coast share house and was raped on her second night there.

Ms Bates believes her state is in crisis when it comes to domestic and sexual violence, and is calling for more to be done.
‘In 2016 we saw the highest number of sexual offences reported to police in nine years. More than 6,200 offences in total across the state makes for a crisis,’ she said.
‘On the Gold Coast, latest figures from police show sexual violence is at a 12-month high. Monthly data for May and June 2017 has shown 50 sexual violence offences each month.’
