A teenage girl who was brutally beaten up in a playground brawl while classmates watched on in silence says she is too scared to return to school.

Footage of the fight, which circulated on social media this week, shows the girl cowering with her arms protecting her face as she’s repeatedly punched.

She attempts to get up from the ground only to be pushed down again by her hair before suffering a brutal kick to the head.

The girl, who goes to a high school on New Zealand’s North Island, took to Facebook to call out the bully over the ‘assault’, the NZ Herald reported.

‘If it was a fight I’d be standing, fists up … but as you see I was not. I was in shock, I had one hand that I was using because she was swinging around me …’ she wrote.

‘She thought I deserved my head kicked in … surely it can’t be hard to keep your hands to yourself.’

She went on to sarcastically thank onlookers who did nothing to help her as she was brutally beaten.

‘So thankful for you all that just watched. Bigger thanks to those that cheered her on … just remember you let your friend assault a helpless person.

‘I was debating on posting this but I need to be heard by someone.’

The teenager said she was ruthlessly bullied for being a ‘bad fighter’ when she returned to school and constantly felt ‘so much anxiety’.

She said the ‘disgusting’ way her school handled the fight made her not want to go back to class.

‘Schools really need to sort out their sh*t … a lot of kids don’t go because of the fear that someone might attack them.’

The schoolgirl accused of starting the one-sided brawl has reportedly been referred to Youth Services.
