A teenager has pleaded guilty to stealing her step-grandfather’s credit card before going on an almost $6,000 shopping spree.

Angela Blair from Queensland’s Sunshine Cost admitted to 151 fraud charges and one count of stealing on Thursday at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court.

The 19-year-old took the card from the elderly man’s car last year before spending $5,976 at clothing and cosmetic stores between August and October, according to the Sunshine Coast Daily.

The woman even used the card to get her nose pierced.

Her step-grandfather said he immediately suspected Blair after noticing the card was missing.

Despite being reimbursed by the bank, the court ordered Bali to pay her relative the outstanding balance.

In court, Blair’s lawyer said his client was experiencing ‘financial strain’ at the time, and had ‘major health issues’.

Magistrate Ron Madsen said her crime was a ‘great shame’ but she had clearly been through a lot already.

The youth was sentenced to 18 months’ probation with no conviction recorded.
