The young woman’s distraught mother has flown from China to Sydney to help with the search for her daughter, 9 News reported.

‘She’s a little girl, and very honest, and I feel so upset … I want her alive because her mum’s very worried about her,’ one of Ms Yu’s friends said.

Vincent Chen, who lives two doors from Ms Yu, heard her mother arrive at the home with police on Sunday morning.

‘She cried and cried… she didn’t sleep for three days already,’ Mr Chen told The Daily Telegraph.
