Tenant from hell leaves rental property in Riverstone, western Sydney covered in rubbish

Tenant from hell leaves home looking like a rubbish dump with rotting food, animal faeces and birdcages strewn across the property – and the smell was so bad the owner was dry heaving when he walked inside

  • Western Sydney rental left ruined by tenant
  • Owner says he’s owed 10,000 from renter
  • Home full of faeces, rubbish and rotting food

A tenant from hell has left a home covered in rotting food, animal faeces, half empty milk bottles and smelling so bad it made the owner dry heave when he opened the front door.

Quincy, a landlord from Riverstone in Sydney’s west, is now facing thousands of dollars in repairs and $10,000 in unpaid rent after his investment property was left in an ‘unlivable’ condition.

He leased the house out five years ago to a woman who turned the address into a rubbish tip.

Revolting video and images show the dilapidated home littered with so much garbage the floors are no longer visible.

Among the discarded items to clean up are half-eaten bowls of noodles, congealed milk cartons, cat food, dog poo and empty birdcages.

‘I have never seen someone do this sort of damage to another human’s property,’ Quincy A Current Affair.

‘The tenant left all of the foodstuff rotting inside the fridge here, as you can see the stink is unbearable.’

The shattered homeowner is not sure what, if anything can be salvaged from the property, adding that it feels like a ‘kick in the guts’.

‘I am devastated really, financially, emotionally I have basically lost faith in humanity, really,’ he said.

Over the five year lease he never once gained access to the property as the tenant would give him an endless list of excuses why he couldn’t visit.

Quincy only raised the rent once during the entire period by $10 to $450 a week.

He eventually took the tenant to the rental tribunal after she fell so far behind on her payments, owing $10,000

Although her name remained on the lease she claims her grandmother was living at the address before she died.

Neighbours say people were living at the property as recently as a fortnight ago.

The tenant also claims she is willing to go in and clean up the mess herself and will ‘100 per cent’ pay the rent owed, but Quincy holds out little hope.
