A pet dog known for terrorising saltwater crocodiles for more than nine years has been tragically killed by one of her arch enemies.
The West Highland White Terrier cross Australian Terrier – aptly named Dumb Blonde – was chasing a saltwater crocodile when she was bitten and snatched into the water outside a Northern Territory lodge.
Dumb Blonde came to fame after a video of the pup chasing a three-metre saltwater crocodile went viral.
The terrier had been courageously chasing crocodiles for years, but her luck ran out when she was savagely attacked and killed by one in her backyard on Monday.

Dumb Blonde (pictured) a pet pooch living on Goat Island in the Northern Territory, has been known for chasing saltwater crocodiles for years, according to her owner
Mr Hansen said that Dumb Blonde would normally bite the crocodile’s tail and chase it back into the water – something she’d been doing for nine years.
Mr Hansen previously told Daily Mail Australia, ‘It started when she chased Casey [one of the island’s ‘pet’ crocs] off one year and she just loves it.’
‘At first I was worried but I can’t stop her – the only way to stop her would be to hold her all day.’
Mr Hansen said she used to be called Pippa, but the name Dumb Blonde stuck after she started taking crocodiles by the tail.

Yet unfortunately this time around, the crocodile’s patience had run out.
The late dog’s owner Kai Hansen told the NT News, ‘It’s such a sad story and I’m feeling terrible about it still, but it’s not something I ever trained Dumb Blonde to do.’
‘She did things her way,’ he said.
‘This time she went very close to the head straight away which was, yeah, not very smart,’ Mr Hansen said.
