Unbelievable footage shows a terrified man clinging to the bullbar of a ute on a busy Sydney highway after a minor car crash.

The bizarre incident started when two cars got into a nose-to-tail bingle in Auburn, in Sydney’s west, on Christmas Day.

But when the drivers went to exchange details, the man behind the wheel of the Toyota Landcruiser took off.

The driver of the other car then clung onto the ute’s bullbar, which he latched on to for dear life for several kilometres.

The man clung onto the ute’s bullbar, where he latched on for dear life for the next several kilometres on the Hume Highway

Horrified witnesses who were travelling next to the ute on the Hume Highway filmed the near-death encounter.

‘What the f**k, he’s dragging along the front,’ the woman in the passenger seat could be heard saying while her distressed kids screamed from the back seat.

‘Look at him, he’s even speeding.’

The family inside the car then followed the Landscruiser for the next two kilometres while they called police.

‘There’s a car that’s been involved in an accident and a guy’s jumped in front of the car and the (driver) won’t stop, he’s going to kill him,’ the man told police.

‘He’s still hanging off the front!,’ the woman shouted as the ute was seen swerving in front of another car.

The man didn’t let go of the bullbar until the ute pulled into a quiet street and slowed down.

Another witness, who had been standing nearby, said he heard the sound of screaming as the ute pulled around the corner.

The man was then captured on a shop’s CCTV laying in the street in pain.

However, he was lucky to survive the bizarre road-range incident without any major  injuries.

Police are now investigating the incident.
