Video has emerged of the terrifying moment a driver narrowly avoids ploughing into another car on a busy highway intersection.

The footage, posted on AusCam on Facebook, shows a car pulling out onto a busy road before halting – causing the oncoming driver to swerve around it.

It’s not clear why the driver pulled out of the intersection, but they may not have looked properly or the oncoming car could’ve been hidden behind a blind spot.

The dashcam starts to turn left as the car makes it way down a slip road.

A black jeep in front of the camera, on the other side of the road, pulls out at speed – crossing the road with oncoming traffic – before noticing the car and grinding to a halt in the middle of the busy road.

It’s at this point the oncoming car spots the driver who has pulled out hastily – and is forced to swerve dangerously around the back of the jeep.

The men on the dashcam footage can be heard shouting: ‘Holy moly!’ and ‘You’re stupid! That was close’.

The Facebook post has attracted comments such as: ‘People are just not concentrating!!!’.
