An adorable puppy that disappeared for 80 hours ran into it’s owners arms after being rescued from a mine shaft.

Tess, Border Collie, went missing during a bushwalk on Anzac Hill, Maldon, north of Melbourne on Tuesday morning.

Marie Ann Bell called for her pup, and when she didn’t respond, she became extremely worried.

A search was soon underway, to look for Tess, who was then found in a 10metre deep mine shaft

‘When I called her – and she usually comes straight to me – nothing happened. So I went on calling her for 45 minutes,’ she told Nine News.

‘That was the beginning of three-and-a-half days of anguish and worry.’

A search was soon underway, to look for Tess, who was then found in a 10metre deep mine shaft.

Country Fire Association arrived at the scene and climbed down the mine to rescue the puppy.

Tess’ owner burst into tears on Thursday after she was reunited with her beloved dog, which had been gone for 80 hours with no food or water.

‘She’s well and happy and hungry and perfectly fine.’

Ms Bell thanked the rescuers for their help in saving her pet dog.
