A 17-year-old boy from Texas has gone down in fast food history after he devoured a whopping ten patty Whataburger.

Ethan Mueller’s impressive gastronomic feat has been viewed more than two million times since video of it was shared on social media platform Tik Tok.

Mueller had visited the branch in Allen, Texas where he spent $21 on a burger with ten patties and six slices of cheese.

The viral video begins with the teen taking a big bite out of the meaty feast, as a supportive friend reaches over to dab his face with a napkin. The entire restaurant is focused on Mueller as he slowly, but surely makes his way through the patty tower with admirable persistence.

Eventually the surrounding patrons, mostly young people with their phones drawn out, chant ‘Ethan!’

Employees are also seen cheering for Mueller behind the counter.

At one point the burger crumbles, but the crowd continue to cheer on Mueller’s iron clad stomach.

‘That’s okay,’ one person yells, ‘whatever it takes!’

In the last stretch, Mueller powers through and downs the final pieces of the burger.

The triumphant battle that would have only become  high school lore if Mueller’s friend, Blake Reynolds, didn’t post cinematic moment to Tik Tok.

The high school senior told Mashable that he went along to a friend’s youth group outing and captured the moment Mueller attempted to beat a seven patty record.

Pam Cox, vice president of human resources and brand communications at Whataburger, couldn’t confirm, but still applauded Mueller’s gumption.

Cox told USA Today: ‘We really can’t say for sure, but this may be the first time we captured someone from the cheering crew wiping sweat off the hero’s brow.’

‘Ethan flexed all his Whataburger muscles on this one.’

Reynolds added that he was definitely involved in the burger smack-down, but made ‘sure they [the viewers] could feel the intensity.’

According to Tik Tok, 2.4 million people did.

The entire heart-pounding, mesmerizing ordeal was over in about 20 minutes and cemented Mueller as a local – and an internet – legend.

Apparently Mueller threw up a few times after scarfing down the massive burger, but Whataburger was still thoroughly impressed.

Cox said: ‘This was a fun video, and we love how our restaurant team and other customers really rallied around Ethan – that was a Texas-sized Whataburger!’
