Thanasi Kokkinakis’ girlfriend Hannah Dal Sasso reveals what she REALLY thinks of the term WAG

Thanasi Kokkinakis’ girlfriend Hannah Dal Sasso isn’t keen on the term WAG, an acronym used for wives and girlfriends of professional athletes.

The Melbourne It girl prefers to be known for her own merits, rather than being someone’s partner.

‘I know in footy there are so many girlfriends and they get called WAGs, but in tennis there aren’t many and you never really see someone called that,’ she told the Herald Sun on Tuesday.

‘I like having my own name and not being someone else’s partner,’ she continued.

Elsewhere in the interview, Dal Sasso discussed the challenges of maintaining a long-distance relationship while Kokkinakis, 28, travels the globe with his tennis career.

Thanasi and Hannah went public with their romance last March while attending the Glamour on the Grid in Melbourne together.

Hannah said that she and Thanasi met ‘a few months ago’ and that she has been travelling with him ‘for a bit’.

Last May, Thanasi paid tribute to Hannah after winning his first win at the French Open, admitting that she was his ‘first girlfriend, probably ever.’

‘[I’m a] late bloomer, I guess you could say, so I’m trying that, but that brings its challenges as well. But she has been great,’ he said.
