Thanassi Kokkinakis posts a VERY revealing look at his six pack abs – and tennis fans go nuts for his thirst trap photos

  • World No.68 got tongues wagging with Instagram post
  • Will play Austria’s Sebastian Ofner in the first round
  • Fans can’t get enough of star’s new Instagram post

Thanasi Kokkinakis is drawing rave reviews from tennis fans without hitting a single ball at this year’s Australian Open – and it’s all thanks to the  ripped physique he has honed on the court.

The 27-year-old isn’t due to play his first-round opponent, Austrian Sebastian Ofner, until Tuesday, but he delivered his first ace of the tournament when he posted a selection of photos to Instagram on Sunday night.

One shot made a huge impression on fans: an image of the Adelaide-born lifting his shirt to wipe his face during a recent hit-out and exposing his washboard abdominal muscles.

Kokkinakis kicked off a wave of compliments from his Instagram followers when he posted this thirst trap shot of his ripped physique before his first match at the Australian Open

The star's post also featured a shot of him with his great mate, Nick Kyrgios - with whom he won the 2022 men's doubles title at Melbourne Park

The post’s other photos include an image of him on court with his great mate Nick Kyrgios, plus pics of him serving, collecting a stray tennis ball and relaxing after a match – all of them accompanied by the caption ‘Lesssgoo’.

Two of the shots feature Kokkinakis wearing the logo of one of his sponsors, clothing brand Cotton On.

It didn’t take long for his followers to share their amazement at the star’s cut appearance.

Comments like ‘Thanasi Abbinakis’, ‘Haha my brother flexing’, ‘Well excuse me abs ahoy!’, ‘Let it all hang out’ and ‘The fit is sick’ were all over the replies section.

One follower even wrote, ‘This man’s done more for cottonon than all the sheep that have ever lived.’

Kokkinakis appears to once again be one of the sport’s most eligible bachelors after splitting with his ex, influencer and fashionista Hannah Dal Sasso.

He has since moved on, appearing on celebrity dating app Raya and being spotted schmoosing with Melbourne beauty Mary Vitinaros.

Kokkinakis’s current world singles ranking of 68 is just three off the best mark he has ever posted, despite the fact he comes into his home Grand Slam on the back of a far from ideal preparation.

He was bundled out in the first round of his home tournament, the Adelaide International, which he won in 2023.

The star is still searching for his first win of 2024 after suffering an opening-round loss to countryman Rinky Hijikata in the Brisbane International, and knows he needs to be better at pressing home any early advantage.

‘It’s been a trend in a lot of my matches, early in the second set my feet stop and I lose my focus,’ he said after his loss to Dusan Lajovic in Adelaide.

‘That’s my biggest weakness, to be honest.

‘When I’m playing well I take my foot off the gas.

‘I maybe go for some shots that aren’t there and lose a bit of focus.

‘It changed the whole momentum of the match.’
