Her 20-year-old boyfriend was charged with murder and failing to report a death. He allegedly led detectives to the shallow grave.

Police allege Ms Kaur’s partner denied having any involvement in her death despite knowing where her body was.

The man, whose identity has been suppressed under court orders, appeared via video link in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police prosecutor Wendy Priestley said the murder investigation was ‘in its relative infancy’.

‘We’re not exactly sure where crime scenes might be involved,’ she told the court, The Daily Telegraph reported.

‘The defendant had travelled from Adelaide to the location, north of Hawker, where the body was located.

‘En route, he must necessarily have stopped at a service station or toilets somewhere along the way and the investigation is crucial.’

The man, who is in Australia on a student visa, will reappear in court in December.
