Jessica De Gouw has opened up about her experience on the set of Disney+ series The Artful Dodger and what mischief she would have gotten into back in the 1850s.
The actress, 35, known for her captivating performances, had nothing but praise for her co-stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster and David Thewlis.
‘They’re a delight… You know how they say ”don’t meet your heroes”? Well, in this case, you definitely should!’ she told Daily Mail Australia.
Embracing the period theme, De Gouw said she loved her costume.
‘I’m no stranger to a corset and a period drama. But this one was saucy, naughty, and playful – so it just doesn’t feel like any way like a bonnet drama,’ she shared.

Set in 1850s Australia, The Artful Dodger tells the story of Charles Dickens’ famous character who leads a double life as a surgeon and a thief.
When asked about the most likely crime she would commit in that era, De Gouw said with a laugh ‘What would I get deported for? Probably something like my character, Peggy.
‘A bit too naughty, a bit of a philanderer.’
Away from the set, De Gouw revealed her Christmas holiday plans, saying she was excited to return to Perth to attend her best friend’s wedding and spend time with her family after years of living in London.
