A man born without arms who plays the French horn with his toes is to make his debut at the BBC Proms this year.

Felix Klieser, whose musical talent is described as ‘astonishing’, will take part in two performances during the classical music season, which starts in July.

The 32-year-old from Germany will play Mozart’s Horn Concerto No4 in E flat major with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, where he is an artist-in-residence.

Mr Klieser is understood to have started playing the horn when he was four years old.

He plays the instrument by using his left foot to operate the valves, with the horn placed on a tripod.

Unveiling this year’s season of concerts, BBC Proms director David Pickard described Mr Klieser as a ‘really extraordinary character’ and ‘an astonishing musician’.

He added: ‘I think it’s going to be a really exciting moment.’ Mr Klieser, who will also play in a performance for audiences with disabilities and sensory impairments the next day, said it would be ‘amazing’ to perform at the Royal Albert Hall.
