The ‘Aussie Rapunzel’ with hair a METRE long shares her nightly oil routine that stimulates growth – and exactly how she washes it to prevent breakage

  • Model dubbed ‘Aussie Rapunzel’ has shared the nightly routine she swears by
  • She starts with rosemary oil before using a scalp massager to stimulate growth
  • Then she pops her hair in a loose bun and ties a silk turban around it
  • This prevents overall breakage while she sleeps and stops knots from forming

A young model who has grown her luscious locks a staggering one-metre long has revealed her nightly routine that helps stimulate growth.

The 23-year-old from Sydney, who calls herself ‘The Aussie Rapunzel’, starts by applying rosemary oil to her scalp before using the Rapunzel Rescue Scalp Massager to gently bring blood flow to the area.

The idea that rosemary oil encourages hair growth comes from the fact it has anti-inflammatory properties, promotes nerve growth and improves circulation.

From there the blonde bombshell lightly ties her hair into a low bun and places a silk turban around her head, so none of the hair snags on her pillow throughout the night.

She has also offered suggestions about shampooing and conditioning her long locks in the shower.

Rather than applying the product directly onto her roots, she massaged it between her hands for a few seconds then ran it through her hair

She claims this 'breaks down all oils and dirt', leaving the hair feeling fresher for longer

‘If you have super oily hair, you might be shampooing incorrectly,’ she said on TikTok.

‘A lot of people don’t do this but it’s such a simple thing that can be a game changer,’ she said.

‘Most have found this to be more effective for eliminating oily hair than directly applying it.’

In a separate video, she shared a lesser-known tip when conditioning your hair.

While in the shower you should always ‘ring out’ the water from the ends before applying the product.

The Aussie Rapunzel claims this allows the conditioner to ‘penetrate’ the strands and leave the hair feeling ‘soft and silky’.

‘I also leave my conditioner on for at least three minutes,’ she said in the clip.

The Aussie Rapunzel previously told FEMAIL it takes 30 minutes to wash her hair and she prefers to dry it naturally which often takes between three to four hours.

She admits her haircare is ‘high maintenance’ as she has to be ‘gentle and patient’ when brushing it and also implements heatless hair styling tactics found on social media.

‘My hair is actually very heavy so it’s hard to style but my go-to hairstyles are a slick back ponytail or recently I have been trying heat-less curls using a robe tie to curl my hair,’ she said.

The trick involves wrapping damp hair around a thin robe tie and leaving it to set for a few hours to create the curl formation.

‘The results are amazing and it is the only way I can get curls to hold all day.’
