Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia both came to the same shocking revelation that they might not receive proposals on Tuesday’s live finale of The Bachelorette.
The first part of the two-part finale featured Gabby, 31, and Rachel, 26, in front of a live studio audience with host Jesse Palmer, 43, as they watched their final suitors meet their families in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
‘He just has everything that I’ve even looked for in someone,’ said Gabby in a confessional of her remaining suitor Erich Schwer, 29, a real estate agent from Bedminster, New Jersey. ‘I really, really, really hope at the end that he’s proposing to me.’

Erich told her he truly loved her, but wanted to first date her in the real world.
‘Getting engaged before that happens is not how things usually go,’ Erich said. ‘I’m sorry if this has been upsetting.’
Gabby stormed out of the room and told a producer what Erich said.
‘I don’t want anyone to be forced,’ Gabby said. ‘He said ”I want to date you.” That’s what he said.’

The season 19 show opened with Rachel standing with two roses on the table in front of Zach Shallcross, 25, of Anaheim, California; Aven Jones, 28, a sales executive from San Diego; and Tino Franco, 28, a general contractor from the Playa del Rey area of Los Angeles.
Before she could hand out the roses, Zach pulled her aside. He told her that their Fantasy Suite date seemed a little off. Zach said he also felt blindsided by her concerns about his age.

Rachel returned to the rose ceremony and told Aven and Tino about what had happened.

‘I want you to know those feelings that I had, those were real,’ Rachel said.
‘I saw a future with you and the reality was it just wasn’t going to happen,’ Zach said. ‘That was a hard thing to just realize.’

‘It felt like we were two strangers in a way,’ Zach said.
On the show, Rachel and Gabby’s families and friends traveled to Mexico to meet the remaining men. Aven talked to Rachel’s father ‘Big Tony.’
‘This is my daughter,’ Tony said. ‘She’s my pride and joy and nobody is going to take her away from me without a fight.’

Aven told Rachel’s two best friends Nate and Sam that he could see himself getting to the point of proposing. Nate asked him if he had made it clear to Rachel he wasn’t ready for an engagement.
‘She is ready for an engagement,’ Nate said. ‘If she comes home not engaged that’s going to be really hard.’

Nate later told Rachel that Aven couldn’t give him an answer about whether he would be ready for an engagement at the end. Rachel was upset.

Gabby then had her family meet her remaining suitor Erich. She told them she already told Erich that she loved him. Gabby’s father Patrick asked Erich how he knew that their daughter was the right person.
‘I am obsessed with her,’ Erich said. ‘I can’t imagine my life without her at this point.’
Patrick asked Gabby the same question.

Gabby started crying and said her feelings were exacerbated because she felt unloved at a young age by her mother.

Rachel brought Tino to meet her family. She told them she fell for Tino really early, but that his family didn’t like her.
‘I’m sure they will eventually come around,’ Rachel said.

Aven said he just wanted to experience life with her outside of the show before taking the next step.

Rachel started crying.
‘I need you to know how hard it is for me,’ Rachel said. ‘I feel so blindsided by you.’
