He made it to the top 10 on The Bachelorette despite getting virtually no airtime.

And Glenn Smith has opened up about his uneventful stint on the dating show following his elimination on Thursday.

Reflecting on his complete lack of connection with Angie Kent, the 31-year-old refrigeration mechanic said: ‘There wasn’t anything there.’

‘I wasn’t surprised [by my elimination], I was pretty comfortable that there wasn’t anything there,’ he told 10 Daily.  

‘There was no initial spark and obviously I’d been there for a little bit and nothing really grew from there.’

Glenn added: ‘When you are chatting, you both know if the spark is there.’

Glenn explained that while he’d applied for the show with the right intentions, he and Angie both understood there wasn’t a future between them.

He added that his own family has been having a good laugh at his expense, after he had barely any screen time on The Bachelorette.

According to Glenn, his twin brother, Neil, found his complete lack of involvement in the major storylines amusing.

‘He’s loving it more than me, to be honest, he’s been enjoying every moment, digging in at me,’ he said.  

On Wednesday night’s episode, Glenn took a backseat yet again as Angie grew her romantic connection with ‘dark horse’ Ciarran Stott. 

He was sent home on Thursday’s show amid little fanfare.
