The Batman new image and teaser video offer a hint at Robert Pattinson’s Bat-voice

Fans will get a glimpse at the next trailer for Warner Bros.’ highly-anticipated DCEU adventure The Batman at the DC Fandome event on Saturday, though the studio and director gave fans an early tease on Thursday.

Director Matt Reeves took to Twitter on Thursday morning to share a new image taken directly from the trailer, showcasing the back of Batman’s cowl.

The Batman Twitter account also joined in on the fun, sharing a brief teaser that reveals Robert Pattinson’s gravelly ‘Bat-voice’ for the first time.

The photo Reeves shared featured Batman looking out over Gotham City just as the sun is starting to rise.

The director added in his caption, ‘Good Morning, from Gotham City… Can’t wait to show you more at #DCFanDome this Saturday…,’ with the hashtags #TheBatman and #TrailerShot.

Earlier in the morning, The Batman Twitter released a brief teaser, which included a line from the film and presumably the trailer, with Pattinson’s Batman stating, ‘It’s not just a signal; it’s a warning.’

They asked fans to like that tweet, ‘for reminders before and when #TheBatman is released.’

The tweet included a brief graphic with the iconic Bat-signal and audio of Pattinson’s voice, indicating how his voice will change while he’s in the Bat-suit.

Others who have portrayed Batman like Christian Bale and Ben Affleck have taken on a more raspy or gravelly tone when they’re in the full Bat-suit, so Pattinson’s similar vocal intonations aren’t terribly surprising.

The very first trailer was unveiled during the DC FanDome event in August 2020, which offered the first look at Pattinson as The Caped Crusader, with director Matt Reeves coming full circle by releasing the next trailer at the 2020 FanDome event.

The story is reportedly set within Bruce Wayne’s second year of being Batman, meaning this won’t be another rebooted origin story.

The superhero adventure also features a number of iconic DC Comics characters like Paul Dano’s The Riddler, the main villain of the film.
