Some games involve a lot of strategy and thinking, some games simulate sports, and there are even games that are just like the puzzles you might have at home. However, sometimes we just want a game that takes us out of real life and puts us into a fun story.
You get to kill monsters, drive fast vehicles, or perform feats of magic to vanquish your enemies.
Adventure games are fun because they are fiction. You get to experience things in a virtual world that you would not otherwise get to experience.
They can also take many forms. It could be a fantasy game where you have to save a fictional world, or it can be a grounded game where you have to save your school. There is a little something for everyone within this genre.
This genre is a perfect option if you’re looking to take a break from your routine for a while. The following four games provide hours of fun and adventure, and they are all available through YuPlay’s Steam products.
Atomic Heart
Atomic Heart is an upcoming adventure game that will be released in February. It takes place in an alternate 1955 in which Russia was able to beat the Nazis by using robotics. The loss of life in the conflict was catastrophic, but to fill the need for workers the robots were repurposed.
They were all connected by a hive mind that was a precursor to the internet. This results in rapid technological advances.
Some scientists want to see if they can use connected mind technology on humans. However, as the launch date approaches, there are problems, and some of the experiments have started mutating. In the game, you take control of one of these test subjects, Major Nechaev.
Your mission is to infiltrate the facility and keep it from deteriorating. You will battle demented robots, mutated plants, people, and your mind to complete your mission.
Gotham Knights
In the near future in Gotham, Batman is dead. In the wake of his death, crime is expanding and the city is descending into chaos.
Someone has to step up and fight back. Luckily, the Bat Family answers the call. Led by Nightwing, our team of heroes including Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin, take to the streets to battle the growing crime wave.
You can play this RPG in a huge open-world Gotham City, as you try to navigate a turf war between two shadowy organizations: The Court of Owls and League of Assassins.
Along the way, you’ll also do battle with an assortment of Batman’s Rogues Gallery, including Harley Quinn, The Penguin, Mr. Freeze, and Clayface. When a legend dies, other legends have to take up the mantle to save the day.
Hogwarts Legacy
You’ve seen Hogwarts as it is today, with magic and mystery. However, you don’t know what took place there in the past. Revisit a familiar place but with a new cast of characters. Hogwarts in the 1890s was a similar, yet different place than the wizarding school we all know and love.
There are different challenges, monsters, and mysteries as you move your way through 5th year onto graduation.
Learn spells and potions that will help you along the way. This game also hasn’t been released yet, so plot details are scarce. However, you can choose either a male or female character, and take them through an adventure as you hold the key to an ancient secret.
This secret could destroy the wizarding world, and it is up to you to save the day.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Peter Parker isn’t the only Spider-Man. Meet Miles Morales, a teenager living in New York who has similar powers to Peter, his mentor. Just as he’s learning and getting used to his abilities, a threat emerges to both his neighborhood and the entire city.
He struggles to balance the life of a teenager and the life of a superhero as he finds himself in the middle of a battle for control of the city between the evil Roxxon Energy Corporation and the Tinkerer.
Explore the vast open world of Manhattan over the holidays as you take on baddies with your new powers. Along with two warring factions, you will have to deal with bad guys like Rhino and Kingpin.
However, you can’t forget about your responsibilities to your mother, who is campaigning to get on the city council to make it safer for all its citizens. Web-slinging, fighting, and wise-cracking, it’s all in a day’s work for your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
