The Block: Crew members speak out against Tanya and Vito Guccione

The Block EXCLUSIVE: Crew members speak out against Tanya and Vito as they’re labelled the ‘most annoying contestants’ in the show’s history

They’re the couple viewers love to hate on The Block.

But Tanya and Vito Guccione have done more than just annoy their rivals on the worksite, with a source revealing they also caused major problems for the crew.

The producers were apparently at their wits’ end by the end of the season and even described the Gucciones as ‘the most annoying contestants’ in the show’s history.

Troublemakers: The Block villains Tanya and Vito Guccione have done more than just annoy their rivals on the worksite, with a source saying they also caused major problems for the crew

One crew member who has worked on The Block for a decade said they were ‘frustrating’ because they would often ‘say one thing and then do another’.

And to make matters worse, the controversial duo didn’t seem to understand how much of the process needed to be filmed.

Vito in particular often became impatient with cameras recording their every move.

‘It is hard to know if the two were purposefully trying to ruffle feathers or if they simply can’t read a room,’ one source told Daily Mail Australia.

‘Sure, there are big personalities every year, but most of the time when the cameras stop rolling, everyone gets along and understands it’s just a TV show.

‘Mitch [Edwards] and Mark [McKie], who have prior experience on The Block, said they hadn’t seen anything like Tanya and Vito’s behaviour on the show before.

‘It has nothing to do with being competitive; it’s that you can’t trust what they say.’

One of the biggest complaints from crew members was the Gucciones’ lack of honesty regarding the cheating scandal early in the season.

Tanya had obtained a photo of the show’s production schedule from host Scott Cam’s office in week one and used it to gain an unfair advantage.

While the Gucciones and the Packham brothers were docked two points for a room reveal after the scandal was exposed, Tanya has yet to properly explain how she obtained the photo, instead offering a vague story about being sent it by a ‘tradie’.

The contestants were understandably keen to know the full story, but the producers were also desperate to get to the bottom of what happened.

‘I don’t know who wanted the truth more, the cast or the crew,’ a source said.

While some viewers speculated the cheating scandal was ‘set up’ for ratings, Daily Mail Australia understands it was in fact genuine and treated ‘seriously’ on site.

‘The Gucciones are still massively under fire about how they obtained the photos from Scotty’s white board,’ the insider added.

‘Only time will tell if the couple’s behaviour has any impact on auction day, but the feeling on set is that they probably won’t be winning The Block.’

The Block continues Tuesday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
