The Block fans call out Scott Cam and Shelley Craft’s ‘hypocritical’ act on site: ‘It’s not like it’s their first rodeo’

The Block fans called out hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft on Wednesday night after the pair failed to follow the most basic safety precaution on site.

Every season Blockheads get lectured over best practices while on a construction site, which include wearing a hard hat and hi-vis vest at all times.

However, the series’ ‘hypocritical’ hosts were spotted not wearing any protection gear as they inspected each contestants’ house.

The most recent episode kicked off with each team and construction crew being lectured during the early hours of the morning by Safety Officer Deano.

‘Let’s all maintain hi-vis. You’re on the site, you need to have your hi-vis on,’ he told the cast and crew as they gathered around.

But moments later, fans were thrown into fury when hosts Scott and Shelley began inspecting the construction site without wearing hi-vis or hard hats.

Viewers flocked to social media to slam the TV stars over the ‘reckless’ and ‘hypocritical’ act.

The pair have both been involved in the show for close to 15 years.

‘I like the morning’s safety message. Wear your hi-vis. Then comes Scott and Shelley, no vests. Not like it’s their first rodeo,’ one person wrote.

Another commented, ‘No hard hats either,’ while someone else pointed out: ‘Shelley usually has pink hi-vis too!’

‘That’s a little bit hypocritical,’ a fourth added, while another joked: ‘They’re special.’

Earlier this week, fans also slammed contestant Paige from House 1 after she went on a foul-mouthed rant during Tuesday night’s episode.

The Blockhead let loose on architect Julian Brenchley, telling him she ‘didn’t give a f**k about his opinion’  following an argument about the placement of her and partner Jesse’s master bedroom.

It wasn’t long before fans of the show took to X, previously known as Twitter, to slam Paige for her on-air antics and call out her ‘childish behaviour’.

‘Little Miss Princess Paige has never had anyone say no to her. Time to grow up cupcake and function in a grown-up’s world,’ they wrote.

Another disgruntled viewer said: ‘Paige is a petulant child. Really thinks people are rude (when they’re not), stomps her feet over everything and has now slagged off two sponsors. Not smart.’

The current series of The Block was filmed earlier this year in the popular Victorian tourism hotspot Phillip Island.

Daily Mail Australia revealed a Channel Nine-owned company purchased Island Cove Villas on the Victorian Island for a whopping $9.5million.

Situated two-and-a-half hours from Melbourne, the site currently features nine homes, a communal pool, a BBQ pavilion, tennis court and a children’s playground.
