The Block stars hit back at cheating claims as they struggle to complete their en suite ahead of final reveals: ‘It’s our lowest week’

The Block’s Ricky and Haydn have hit back after Foreman Dan accused them of ‘cheating’ on the renovation show.

The fan favourites struck a major snag while attempting to complete their en-suite this week which has left them with the difficult task of having to redo the room.

There was more drama after their builder took personal leave on the day when final waterproofing was scheduled.

The pair were then accused of ‘lying and cheating’ because of mistakes their builder made.

‘It was our lowest week [on the show]. There were some things done by our building team when we were off-site,’ Haydn, 37, told TV Week.

‘Foreman Dan called us liars, cheats and said we were trying to be deceitful. But we simply weren’t aware of things going on – the whole site was blowing up.’

The redo on the en suite came after it was revealed that the wrong bonding primer was used on the floors, which also delayed the plastering.

To make matters worse for Ricky and Haydn, it emerged that the builder had ditched waterproofing day because he wanted to go to a concert.

‘I’m not good with people lying to me,’ Ricky, 34, told the publication.

‘Having a builder on something as important as The Block, you have to have trust. It’s going to be hard to come back from that.’

It comes after Ricky revealed the tragic personal loss that helped push him to audition for Nine’s ratings blockbuster.

The plumber said he wanted to pay tribute to his mate Lachey, who was killed in 2012 by a drunk driver at age 23.

‘I hope that at the end of this life he will be standing there applauding me and going ”well done, mate, you couldn’t have given it any more”,’ he said.

Interviewed for the latest edition of New Idea, Ricky said it took him many months to get over the loss.

In one heartbreaking admission, the pipey said he frequently visited the cemetery where his mate was buried to weep over the grave.

‘Eventually time passes, and I knew Lachey didn’t want me there at his tomb crying,’ Ricky explained.

Ricky said that after his mate’s life was cut short he wanted to make the most of every opportunity that came along.

It later emerged that the builder had ditched waterproofing day because he wanted to go to a concert - after telling the pair he was taking a day off the site for 'personal reasons'

‘That’s one thing I’ve done since 2012,’ he continued. ‘I’ve made sure I’ve grasped everything with two hands. I never walk past an open door without at least having a look.’

As the contest has got underway, Ricky has won over huge legions of fans with many viewers calling him their celebrity crush as they commented on his looks.

Fans have also been left charmed by his positive attitude and cheeky sense of humour, taking to social media to claim Ricky’s Yellow Team as their favourites.
