The Block’s Tanya Guccione finally admitted during Sunday’s season finale to having taken the infamous photo of the show’s production schedule – after falsely claiming for weeks that an ‘anonymous tradie’ had sent it her.
The makeup artist, 40, was caught out after the Packham twins confessed that both Josh and Tanya had seen the schedule in host Scott Cam’s office near the crew’s toilets, and she later returned to take a photo.
Yet prior to her confession, Tanya made one last attempt to prove she was innocent by showing the producers a screenshot of a clearly doctored ‘text message’ she’d supposedly received from the fictitious tradie.
Twist: Before confessing to her involvement in the cheating scandal on Sunday, The Block’s Tanya Guccione (left, with husband Vito) made one last attempt to prove she was innocent by showing a screenshot of a text message she’d supposedly received from an ‘anonymous tradie’
However, upon closer inspection of her phone screen, it’s clear Tanya made several mistakes when mocking up the texts, which were clearly fake.
First of all, despite Tanya claiming the ‘tradie’ had sent her an image, no photo of the whiteboard schedule was visible in the screenshot she showed producers.
Secondly, when a text message is sent via WhatsApp, it turns green and is on the right-hand side of the sender’s screen.
But the messages in green were the ones Tanya claims to have received, with one reading: ‘Hello Tanya I have your number from a friend. I have The Block schedule I think it can help you.’
Fail: Upon closer inspection of her phone screen, it’s clear Tanya made several mistakes when mocking up the texts, which were clearly fake. First of all, despite Tanya claiming the ‘tradie’ had sent her an image, no photo of the whiteboard was visible in the screenshot
Unless said ‘tradie’ had sent her a screenshot of the messages to her phone, it’s clear it was faked in order for her to appear innocent.
She also wouldn’t need to cover the top of the photo if this was the case, as it would be her name at the top – not the anonymous tradie’s.
Finally, Tanya slipped up once again when asked when she received the text.
‘What’s the date of that?’ a producer asked.
She replied: ‘That was screen shot on the fourth of May. Oh sorry, not the fourth of May! the fourth of Feb.’

Earlier in the episode, Tanya continued to claim that she didn’t not know who took the photo or sent her a text message containing it.
‘Yes, Josh and I both went into the production office during the photo shoot and we did actually visually see the schedule,’ she said.
‘We had a bit of a laugh, “Oh my gosh, look at that, that is the schedule. Don’t have a good enough memory these days to remember it off by heart”, but I did not take that photo,’ she insisted.
She then explained the mysterious text she received with the photo, saying: ‘It says, “Hello Tanya I have your number from a friend. I have The Block schedule I think it can help you.” How, I questioned him.
Twist: In an even more bizarre twist, twins Josh and Luke Packham told Daily Mail Australia on Monday that Tanya recently told them text was not doctored. ‘I asked Tanya about that the other day, and she told me that it’s actually not doctored and it actually was sent her,’ Josh said
‘That would be an advantage, I replied. [They] said yes, I will air drop it to you when we come back from bathroom week. Who is your friend, I asked. Don’t worry, it is a tradie secret,’ she added.

‘I don’t think she would need to lie about that this time around, but – I don’t know. You would have to ask Tanya – the whole screenshot timing I wasn’t 100 per cent sure but I believe what she tells me.’
Admitted it: Later in the episode, it came out in the wash – as Tanya broke down and finally took responsibility for the photo
Daily Mail Australia have contacted Nine for further comment.
Later in the episode, it all came out in the wash as Tanya broke down and finally took responsibility for the photo.
‘What I want to say is that I am obviously take full responsibility for this situation and I am sorry, I am truly sorry. Yes, I did. I took the photograph,’ she said, breaking down.
She added: ‘I am not a stupid woman but I did a stupid thing. We take responsibility for what happened and where it ended up after that was obviously out of my power, but I started it.’
In tears: ‘What I want to say is that I am obviously taking full responsibility for this situation and I am sorry, I am truly sorry. Yes, I did. I took the photograph,’ she said tearfully
