The Block’s Darren Palmer lists stunning four-bedroom, four-bathroom Bondi home for $2.98m

Darren Palmer showed The Block contestants how it’s done on Thursday when he listed his $2.98million renovated Bondi Beach home for sale.

The interior designer, 46, snapped the lavish property up with his husband Olivier Duvillard in 2015 and got stuck into renovations.

Sitting just 400m from Australia’s most renowned beach, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom house has undergone many transformations, reported Domain.

Now a contemporary three-level home, Darren’s property was once a single-level Californian bungalow before it received several updates.

When Darren purchased it in the mid 2010s, the home had already been risen to two-levels before the author forged ahead with his own renovation plans.

Darren collaborated with architect John Deuchrass and construction company Taste Living to completely rebuild the home after he bought it.

‘The poor old house has a lot to be improved upon. I spent years imagining what it might be when it was completely done,’ Darren told Domain.

He went on to say he kept only one bedroom ‘with the original 1920s horsehair plaster ornate ceiling’ but ended up renovating the rest over two years.

With the transformation long completed, the home now boasts a dual indoor-outdoor living space, a heated pool, and four subtropical garden areas.

‘Every detail, every finish, everything that you see here, was a decision made by me and run past my husband,’ he said.

Darren described his million dollar home as ‘a play on a monochromatic tonal palette’, adding that it was the perfect style for Bondi.

He said he intentionally designed it as a luxury coastal home ‘with lots of attention to detail’, ensuring every space had its purpose.

Darren and his partner shared the home with their teenage son and dogs – Frankie the French bulldog and Ziz the Brussels griffon.

The Block star said working on his own home made him very empathetic for the contestants he judged on the renovation competition.

‘It made me very compassionate and empathetic, because I was also going through it. I would… travel to Victoria to film, and then come back to a job site,’ he said.
