The Block’s Elyse and Josh sell Coburg bungalow

The Block’s youngest couple are tipped to win the series, with expectations they’ll sell their reality show home for up to $3 million at The Block’s auction on October 28.

And model Elyse Knowles, 25, and carpenter boyfriend Josh Barker, 28, are set to try their luck on the market with another property next month.

According to Domain, the loved-up duo are set to sell their renovated Coburg bungalow in Victoria in November via auction.

‘We bought the house when I was 21, and I’d never had any experience in this so I was really relying on Josh and his knowledge,’ Elyse told the publication.

Hocking Stuart director David Wood praised Josh and Elyse for their renovation efforts, noting the excellent work on their huge undercover outdoor entertaining space.

He was confident the property would sell between $1.35 and $1.45 million at the auction, to be held on November 18.

With two auctions scheduled for Josh and Elyse over the next five weeks, they revealed while they’re nervous about both outcomes, it’s their Coburn property which is front of mind.

‘It’s probably more stressful going through that auction than it is The Block because it’s our own money and our own blood, sweat and tears over 18 months to 2 years,’ Josh explained.

Elyse added: ‘We lived in the old shack, showered outside, we cooked on the barbecue. Every wall was a different wall paper, the bathrooms were every colour under the sun – it was a very interesting time.’

As both properties are expected to go to new owners, Josh and Elyse are keen to get their hands on a third renovation property soon.

Josh said they were ready to capitalise on the skills and experience they’ve gained on The Block and have their sights set on a suburb in Melbourne’s leafy east.
