The Block’s Elyse & Josh spend Xmas with Sticks and Wombat

Following their Block triumph, Elyse Knowles and Josh Barker announced they’d be homeless for the holidays.

With two properties sold and more than half-a-million in the bank, the professional model and her beau planned to camp on the beach until they found their new home.

Luckily, beloved castmates Mark ‘Sticks’ Croker and Clint ‘Wombat’ Price saved the day, announcing Tuesday that the re-united group had spent Christmas as a ‘family.’

In an Instagram post, the group gathered around Stick’s barbecue, joined by The Block’s construction team worker Matthew Menichelli.

As is often the case, Wombat and Sticks outdid Elyse and Josh in the romance stakes, the latter wrapping his arms around his mate’s stomach for the snap.

Elyse was busy spending time with Stick’s adorable newborn Lani, who in turn was more interested in the family’s pet pooches.

The model captioned the joyous moment: ‘Back with our family for Xmas! Nothing better than the Keep It North crew!’

After making reference to The Block’s North vs South rivalry, she added the hashtag ‘family forever.’

Alongside the same image, Sticks and Wombat wrote: ‘Look who popped around for a BBQ – just like most nights back on the block.’

‘Few beers and plenty of laughs – but this time there is no soundies telling us to keep it down.’

Fans were naturally overjoyed their four favourite contestants spent Christmas together, while the gesture had extra meaning for Elyse and Josh.

The couple were taken in by their on-screen family after announcing they’d be ‘homeless’ this holidays due to the bad timing of their recent property sales.

After winning $547,000 on The Block, Elyse told the Today show: ‘We sold our own personal home. We have gone from two houses to none, so we are homeless.’

‘I think we will be camping all summer on the beach, which is a good thing. We did sell our home for $1.63 million, which was a record for Coburg, so you beauty.’
