The Block’s Scott Cam undeservedly slammed during former contestants’ shocking tirade – with claims the show is ‘scripted and controlled’

The Block host Scott Cam has been undeservedly slammed by former contestants of the reality television show.

Leah and Ash Milton and Kristy and Brett Beames went on a 47 minute drunken rant on TikTok Live the night of September 6.

They slammed the TV presenter, 61, for being ‘mean’ to contestants off camera, though inside sources have denied the claims, reported New Idea on Monday.

Sharing a drink in Kristy and Brett’s kitchen, the foursome, dubbed the ‘villains’ of the 2023 season, didn’t hold back when talking about their experience on the series.

They lashed out at Block judge Shaynna Blaze, serial buyer Adrian Portelli, and even beloved host Shelley Craft.

When one of their 450 viewers asked about Scott, Leah, 31, kicked things off with a surprisingly kind comment, saying: ‘Scotty is amazing talent.’

But Brett, 35, quickly added: ‘He is nice until the cameras are turned off.’

Wife Kristy, 35, added: ‘He’s real mean… He rejected Kyle and Leslie’s kids.’

She went on to explain fellow Blockheads Kyle and Leslie asked Scott to take a photo with them and their two children Luca, 12, and Archer, 8, but were turned away.

‘He was really rude. He was like, “Be gone!”‘ Kristy claimed; however, this appears to be false as the photo in question can be found on Kyle and Leslie’s Instagram page.

The friends went on to say the work environment was ‘toxic and manipulative’ with the show being ‘scripted and controlled’.

A source close to the renovation show host has also slammed the former contestants’ claims, saying they couldn’t be further from the truth.

‘Scott genuinely cares about the show and the people involved,’ they told New Idea.

‘He’s a down-to-earth bloke and always makes time for everyone, including the contestants.’

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Leah and Ash, Kristy and Brett, and Channel Nine for comment.

Last year’s season of the blockbuster renovation show made headlines after viewers took to their keyboards to complain about the ‘toxic’ behaviour of the contestants.

Leah, Ash, Kristy and Brett appeared to be the main offenders, landing themselves a ‘villain’ edit as they were slammed by viewers as the ‘bullies’ of the season.

Fans were later shocked when Leah and Ash were left empty handed when their House 2 was passed in for $2.97million during the show’s dramatic auction.

Another shock came when Kristy and Brett were heartbroken upon hearing their house sold for just $3.035million – only $65,000 above the reserve price.

Meanwhile, Blockheads Steph and Gian broke records during the show’s explosive finale.

The fan favourites, both 27, sold their incredible five-bedroom, four-bathroom Hampton East home for $5million, walking away with $1.75million in total.

It’s the biggest sale on The Block to date and it broke the record for the Bayside suburb of $3.1million set in May 2021.
