The bodies of two children are found at a home as police investigate ‘suspicious circumstances’

The bodies of two children have been found inside a home while a mother is under police guard with self-inflicted wounds.

After police were alerted at 6pm on Friday officers rushed to a home in Madeley, in northern Perth, and discovered the bodies of children aged six and 10 years old. 

The circumstances of the bodies found at the unassuming house with children’s play equipment strew across the front area is not yet know.

A woman, believed to be their mother, was found injured in nearby sand dunes at Kallaroo at arrested by police at 8:40pm on Friday.

‘It appears she has self inflicted wounds that are non life threatening however she is receiving medical treatment as as a result is unable to be interviewed at this point in time 

The deaths are currently being treated as suspicious and detectives are currently going over the scene.

Neighbours told Nine that a mother lived in the home with her two children.  

A person is understood to be assisting police with their inquiries.
