The diet fitness star Sarah’s Day swears by to stay lean and keep her acne at bay 

Sarah Stevenson started her YouTube channel in a bid to help young women address their acne concerns – having been a sufferer herself.

But since clearing her skin she has become a nutritional guru, with the Sydney-based fitness star an avid supporter of wholefoods and no-fuss meals.

In her latest video the 25-year-old explained how the food she puts into her body maintains her glowing complexion and why ‘treats’ can be good for you.

She starts her day at 7am with a glass of warm lemon water, a well-known trick to kick starting the metabolism and flushing out toxins.

Before her morning workout Sarah eats either an organic banana or apple and fills up her 2.2 litre water bottle to sip on during the day.

Once she returns from a sweaty HIIT-based workout or walk along the beach she’ll tuck into a superfood smoothie.

Using a banana, coconut yoghurt for a healthy source of fat, Tropeaka lean protein in chocolate, maca powder to boost skin health, camu powder for vitamin C and cacao nibs the Sutherland Shire local whips up a tasty dessert brekkie in her Nutribullet.

She’ll follow that with either a handful of fruit and nut mix or a protein ball.

For lunch Sarah prepares baked sweet potato with coconut oil, tumeric and salt and pepper to be added into a tasty tuna salad later on.

‘They’re nice and gentle on my skin but it also cleans it. When you’re doing it, focus on areas that are problematic for you – so for me it’s my nose.’

She explained that for her acne-prone skin, applying natural oils like rosehip and jojoba just ‘break me out’ and encourages others to research their skin type before putting on a product.
