A very eligible bachelor no longer! Prince George’s billionaire godfather, the Duke of Westminster, announces engagement to girlfriend Olivia Henson

Prince George’s godfather, billionaire aristocrat the Duke of Westminster, has announced his engagement to his girlfriend of two years. 

Hugh Grosvenor, 32, – who is thought to own more land than the King – proposed to Olivia Henson at his family seat, Eaton Hall in Cheshire.

The happy couple said in a statement: ‘The Duke of Westminster and Miss Olivia Henson are delighted to announce they are engaged to be married.

‘The couple, who have been together for two years, recently became engaged at the Duke’s family home at Eaton Hall in Cheshire.

‘Members of both their families are absolutely delighted with the news. Hugh Grosvenor, The Duke of Westminster, is Grosvenor’s Chair as well as Chair of the Westminster Foundation.

‘Miss Henson works for Belazu, a B-Corp certified food company based in London.’ 

After the death of his father in 2016, the Duke of Westminster succeeded the Dukedom becoming an instant billionaire. As the 7th Duke of Westminster, he inherited a fortune of £9.3billion. 

He has ownership of the family seat Eaton Hall, as well as a property empire that includes 300 acres in Mayfair and Belgravia, as well as land in Cheshire, Oxford, Scotland and Spain.

Once dubbed Britain's most eligible bachelor, Hugh Grosvenor was educated at £6,000-a-term day school Ellesmere College in Shropshire and inherited the Dukedom following the death of his father in 2016

The Duke has a keen interest business activities and green matters, such as the the protection of biodiversity. He has continued a campaign which was initiated by his father for the Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre.

The Duke also supports the rehabilitation of wounded or injured members of the Armed Forces. He has represented the country at Olympic Skeet Shooting competitions both internationally and in the UK.

Grosvenor previously dated property and recruitment consultant Harriet Tomlinson, but the couple, who met at £6,000-a-term day school Ellesmere College in Shropshire, split in 2020.
