The facts about Lipozene… Is it a scam?

I was reading an article at one of my favorite sites The Hub Post and I come across a Lipozene article which I wanted to discuss more in detail. Especially if you are someone wanting to lose weight.

Lipozene is among the top diet supplements that many people have found to be attractive and effective for weight loss. It can provide you with the best way to lose weight and burn the fat in your body without having to incorporate strict exercise regimens or diets. But does it work or it is just a scam? Let’s find out in this review.

What Is Lipozene?

This supplement (Lipozene) is available in konjac/elephant yam roots. It is marketed as a supplement for weight-loss. The active ingredient of lipozene is glucomannan, a fiber that dissolves in water.

Glucomannan can absorb large amounts of water and this gives it the many health benefits that it has, including weight loss, cholesterol reduction, constipation relief, and the reduction of levels of sugar in the blood.

Glucomannan contains magnesium silicate, stearic acid, and gelatin. These components don’t aid in weight loss. They only keep lipozene from getting bulky.

How Lipozene Aids In Weight Loss

Several observational studies have shown that if you consume a lot of dietary fiber, you’ll weigh less than those who don’t. Soluble fiber like lipozene promotes weight loss in the following ways:

It makes you feel full

Lipozene absorbs water thus expanding your stomach. With an expanded stomach, the food you eat will leave your stomach at a reduced rate. This will make you feel fuller for a long time.

Lipozene contain few calories

Unconsumed calories in your body are responsible for your weight gain because they get converted into fats and stored in your body. Lipozene does not add any substantial amounts of calories to your body. This means it will keep you full while at the same time keeping an eye on your weight gain.

That’s not all, lipozene also reduces the rate at which fat, protein, and other nutrients are absorbed, meaning, you’ll only get minimal amounts of calories from these nutrients.

Promotion of gut health

Lipozene can influence your weight indirectly by boosting good gut bacteria. This will reduce your chances of gaining weight.

Does Lipozene Really Work?

Many researchers have investigated the effect of glucomannan on weight loss. The results have been positive.

In one study involving 176 people, the participants were put on a controlled diet in addition to a lipozene supplement. The control group was not provided with lipozene.

At the end of five weeks, the participants who consumed the lipozene supplement managed to lose about 1.7 kilograms more than those who didn’t.

In another study involving 39 people, lipozene was found to have the ability to help in weight reduction but has to go hand-in-hand with a low-calorie or normal diet. The supplement reduces the rate of food absorption in small intestines which leads to fewer insulin spikes and levels of sugar in blood after meals.

Two trials were conducted separately on obese or overweight people. They were put on a lipozene dosage of 3g per day. At the end of the trial, the participants were found to have lost some weight and their levels of LDL cholesterol were also reduced.

Dosage of Lipozene

The recommended lipozene dosage is 2 capsules taken 3x a day. The capsules should be taken with 230 ml (8 ounces) of water and half and hour before taking a meal.

You can as well take 1.5 g of the supplement, 3x per day. You should time yourself carefully. This is because lipozene is supposed to make you feel full to prevent you from eating a lot. So, you need not take it when you are about to have your meal, with the meal, or after the meal.

Many doctors will advise you to take lipozene in form of capsules using plenty of water. The powder absorbs water very fast, and if you take it incorrectly, lipozene may expand before reaching your stomach thereby causing some blockage. It is also life-threatening to inhale lipozene powder.

Lipozene Side Effects

You can start using lipozene in small amounts then increase the dosage gradually. Even though the supplement is well tolerated by many people, it is known to have some side effects such as constipation, diarrhea stomach discomfort, and nausea.

The Bottom Line

From the studies conducted so far, lipozene is safe and effective for weight loss. If you are interested in trying this supplement, contact your doctor first and let him know if you are using other supplements or drugs. This is because lipozene interacts with some drugs. Also, buy lipozene only from a trusted source.
