Soccer Saturday’s new host is set to be revealed ‘in the coming days’, with it down to ‘the final two’ contenders for the job, according to reports.
Jeff Stelling opted to step down from his role to retire at the end of last season, and the search has been on for his replacement.
While it will not be an easy job to take from Stelling, who made the role iconic alongside the Soccer Saturday panel, the time is nearing for his replacement to be named.
The Sun are now reporting that Stelling’s replacement is set to be named in the coming days.
Furthermore, Sky Sports have got their shortlist down to just two people as they look to replace the icon.

Insiders at Sky ‘still believe that the experienced Simon Thomas is the favourite for the role’
The report continues to state that either Caroline Barker or Simon Thomas will be the new presenter of the show.
Insiders still believe that Thomas is the favourite for the role due to his experience but it remains ‘a close call and has come down to a choice betwene the two’.
The Sun continue to state that Baker has a host of admirers at Sky for her coverage of netball but also because she possesses the ability to cover multiple sports.
With it believed to be down to those two options, the likes of Julian Warren appear to have been snubbed for the role.
It remains to be seen as to who will be given the role after Stelling, with viewers set to find out in recent days.
