An emotional Kylie Minogue fought back tears on stage while promoting her new album in London this week.

The pop princess, 55, was at the end of performing her new song Story at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire when she became overwhelmed and choked up.

‘You’re part of my story,’ she sang as she pointed to the crowd, before tears welled up in her eyes. 

‘I’m gonna cry now!’ she said, before turning her back to the audience and burying her face into one hand. 

The star paced back and forth for a few moments to regain her composure before reaching for a drink.

Addressing the cheering crowd, Kylie then said, ‘I am holding on to now. Trust me.’

She added, ‘You know, I get emotional in these moments.’

It comes after Kylie’s new album Tension topped the charts in both Australia and the UK.

The Australian stunner is currently in the midst of a career resurgence thanks to her viral hit Padam Padam.

She recently announced her first ever Las Vegas residency, which sold out all 20 dates in an hour.

With her career on fire again, Kylie has already hinted that she’s itching to get back into the studio to keep the momentum going.  

Speaking with Hits Radio, Kylie was in the middle of a Q&A with fans online when she made the confession.

‘Just tell me – how many good songs can one artist have?’ one fanatic asked.

‘I mean you’re really making me have a good day, thank you,’ Kylie answered, unable to wipe the smile off her face. 

She continued: ‘How many good songs can one artist have? I don’t know, because I already want to get back in the studio and write more.

‘I feel like we’re on a roll so I would like to – although it’s been a long time, my career has been going a long time, right now it feels like it’s kind of the start of something.

‘Which is hugely exciting. So, the answer is, how many songs? More.’

Tension is Kylie’s 16th studio album which released on September 22 this year. It is already set to be the most acclaimed album of her career based on reviews.
