Kristin Cavallari revealed last Friday that she and boyfriend Mark Estes have gone their separate ways after dating for seven months.
The 38-year-old Laguna Beach alum shared with Alex Cooper on her Unwell Tour stop in Austin that she and the 24-year-old TikTok star called it quits, adding that it’s ‘fresh.’
Now, a source has shared with Us Weekly exactly what tore the couple apart.
‘As they started to get more serious in their relationship, issues started to surface,’ the insider said.
It was added: ‘They kept having conversations about the future but weren’t aligned. Kristin realized they were on different pages with what they wanted long-term.’

While Mark, whose nickname is Montana, was ready to settle down with Kristin long-term, she wasn’t on the same page.
It comes after weeks ago he shared on her Let’s Be Honest podcast, ‘My end goal obviously would [be] to be married and to have a happy life.’
According to publication’s source, Estes ‘really wants to settle down and start a family,’ which he outlined ‘from the start.’
Cavallari is already mom to three children with ex-husband Jay Cutler — Camden, 11, Jaxon, nine, and Saylor, eight.
According to the person close to the situation, the former MTV reality star wasn’t fully on board to have a baby.
‘She was open to it but also felt very content with her life and family. The age difference was a big factor, and them being in different stages of life was the dealbreaker,’ shared the source.
Kristin realized the age gap with Estes, who is 13 years her junior, wouldn’t ‘work long-term.’
It was also noted that the Uncommon James designer is happy being more ‘independent.’

Despite the end to their romance, the exes hold no hard feelings toward each other.
‘Kristin really liked Mark and enjoyed their time together, and there’s no animosity between them. They genuinely had a lot of fun but it ran its course. She is excited to focus on herself, her businesses and her kids right now,’ Us Weekly’s insider dished.
Kristin confirmed her relationship with Estes in late February with an Instagram post.
The photo was taken just a few weeks after their first date, which she spoke about in an episode of her podcast.
The entrepreneur revealed that she first came across Estes and his group of friends, dubbed Montana Boyz, on TikTok in September 2023.
