Q. We will be in New York for two nights between cruises — any advice on seeing as much as possible in this fascinating city? Also, will we need visas?

Q. Our daughter is engaged and would like to get married abroad with a party of seven, on a £10,000 budget. Ideally they would stay at an all-inclusive hotel for a week. Can you help?

Q. Since 1970 I have driven to Carinthia in Austria each year, but my family say that, now I’m 80, I am too old. How about a ferry then a ‘car train’?

A. This is possible but complicated. Catch an overnight ferry, 11pm-8am, from Harwich to the Hook of Holland, from £98 one-way with a car and cabin (stenaline.co.uk). Then it is a three-hour drive to Dusseldorf, where you could take an overnight motorail service to Innsbruck from 8.54pm-9.14am; from £236 one-way for a car and shared sleeper compartment (railtravelshop.com/holidays/motorail).

Q. My husband and I would like to visit the Camargue in France. Is there a best airport to fly to? Any suggestions on what to do, apart from visiting the wetlands and seeing the wildlife?

A. Fly to Marseille from about £20 return (easyjet.com), then hire a car for the hour-long drive to the beautiful river delta. Stay at the cosy Hotel Maison Volver in Arles, just north of the wetlands (maisonvolver.com).
Arles is famous for its Roman remains and association with Vincent van Gogh, who lived here. His works can be seen at the Foundation Vincent van Gogh (arlestourisme.com). Take day trips to Marseille or to the interesting cities of Nimes and Avignon, both about 45 minutes away by car (about-france.com/tourism/camargue.htm).
