A Champions League club have been forced to clarify that Jurgen Klopp is not working for them.

Klopp brought the curtain down on his illustrious spell as Liverpool manager at the end of last season.

Earlier this week the German coach insisted that he will not be the next England manager following Gareth Southgate’s departure.

In addition, Klopp suggested that he is unlikely to coach again in the near future.

However, a staff member who bears a striking resemblance to Klopp was seen in attendance at a training session at a major European club this week.

Igor Grskovic, a masseur for Shakhtar Donetsk, went viral this week for looking very similar to Klopp.

Shakhtar posted on their official X account: ‘No, it’s not Jürgen Klopp. It’s our masseur-rehabilitator Ihor Grshkovich.’ 

Shakhtar, who won the Ukrainian Premier League last season, will enter the Champions League at the league stage this campaign. 

Speaking at the at the International Coaches’ Congress in Wurzburg, Klopp said: ‘As of today, that’s it for me as a coach.

‘I didn’t quit on a whim, but it was a general decision. I’ve also coached the best clubs in the world.

‘Maybe we can talk about it again in a few months. I still want to work in football and help people with my experience and contacts. Let’s see what else there is for me.’

Asked about the possibility of managing England, Klopp said: ‘At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs. No club, no country.

‘It would be the biggest loss of face in the history of football if I said, “I’ll make an exception for you now.

‘I’m going to do some work. I’m too young to only do padel, tennis and grandchildren.

‘Will that be (to) coach again? I would actually rule that out at the moment.’

During his time as Liverpool manager, Klopp memorably guided the club to their first league title in 30 years in 2020. He also won the Premier League, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup as well as the Community Shield.
