Two Australians have been left hospitalised after being stabbed repeatedly by a group of men in Bali, a girlfriend of one of the victims has claimed.

Scarlett Carruthers, from Redcliffe, in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region, said her boyfriend Peter and friend Izeah were viciously assaulted outside a mini mart in Kuta on their final night in the Indonesian country.

‘It was our last night in Bali so we decided to go for a meal and then get an early night ready for our flight home the next day which didn’t go to plan,’ she said.

‘My partner and his friend ended up being stabbed over 20 times in the face, neck, head, eye, chest, both arms and ear.’

Peter nearly lost his eyesight and now has to undergo cosmetic surgery, while Izeah suffered so much blood loss he was told by paramedics if he didn’t get to the hospital within 30 minutes he’d be dead.

Peter is now facing a $50,000 hospital bill while Izeah’s medical bills are totalling $15,000.

Ms Carruthers admitted they were ‘stupid’ and forgot to buy travel insurance with the hospital telling them they’re unable to complete the surgery unless they pay up front.

She has since launched a GoFundMe to help cover the medical fees.

‘We then need to pay for accommodation and now book new flights home as we missed our original ones,’ she said.

‘We know we should have gotten travel insurance but unfortunately we were stupid and forgot, not expecting anything like this to happen.’

Just over $3,500 has been raised so far out of a $30,000 goal.

Shocking photos shared of Peter and Izeah show just how serious their injuries are.

One of the men was seen with his eyebrow cut open and his eye black and bruised, as he lay covered in bandages in his hospital bed.

The other man had blood covering his entire face while a chunk of skin had been cut out of his chest.
