The identity of the Rooster on The Masked Singer Australia has been revealed.

During Sunday night’s finale episode, the mystery celebrity was unmasked as Hugh Sheridan, 37. 

The show’s judges Mel B, Abbie Chatfield, Dave Hughes and Chrissie Swan were left speechless – and Abbie was delighted as she guessed right.

‘One clue kind of made things unravel for me, and it was the phrase “all about me”. I look up “All About Me song” and there’s a song by Hugh Sheridan,’ she had said. 

‘And that kind of started the whole thing for me. So I’m gonna go with Hugh Sheridan.’ 

Once he was unmasked, singer and performer Hugh admitted that he struggled inside the costume and almost quit.

‘When I first came out in this costume, I was having panic attacks’ he admitted to host Osher Gunsberg.    

‘I didn’t know how claustrophobic I actually am.  didn’t think I was going to last a week, and then I crossed a line with the Rooster and I just said, “Take me”‘. 

Hugh added that he went on the show because his sister and niece love it.

‘I wanted to do something fun. I wanted to do something to cheer up my family and also the whole world had a hard year last year, and the year before’ he said. 

‘So I thought this is pure entertainment and for me has been, like, quite the journey’ he added.  

Hugh came in third in the grand finale, behind Mirrorball and Snapdragon.
