Australian soccer legends The Matildas have partnered with Nike to launch a new goalkeeper jersey available in stores now – and a world famous singer was given the first one.
American pop star Pink, 44, who is currently touring Australia, and her daughter Willow, 12, were gifted personalised purple jerseys by Matildas goalie Lydia Williams, in Melbourne on Saturday.
‘This is awesome, I will wear it proudly. It says Pink and it’s number one,’ a delighted Pink said in a video.
Williams said she was thrilled that one of her favourite singers was such a huge fan of women’s sport.
‘She grabbed it right away. She was like, “These are sick”. She loves Australia, Australians and supporting women’s sport,’ she told The Sydney Morning Herald.

‘When she realised it was about the World Cup and the first release of the jerseys, excitement… She’s smiling big in the photo, so she’s definitely pumped about it.’
The Matildas made global headlines when they had phenomenal success at the Women’s World Cup last year.
The jerseys went on sale Tuesday and they are available for both men and women.
It comes after Pink – who was born Alecia Beth Moore – was left completely speechless by a fan’s very X-rated proposition during her Summer Carnival show over the weekend in Melbourne.

She was speaking to fans in the audience at Marvel Stadium when she noticed one woman holding up a sign to try and grab her attention.
The star admitted she was shocked when she read the note which was addressed to herself and husband Carey Hart.
Pink told the crowds: ‘That sign says “you, me and Carey threesome?” I don’t know what to say! I’m not often speechless.’
She appeared to see the funny side of the proposition as she took to her Instagram after the show to re-share a video of the exchange.
The superstar has been busy travelling around Australia for her in demand shows and is next set to take to the stage in Adelaide on Tuesday evening.
She has been joined Down Under by her off-road truck racer husband Carey, 48, and their kids Willow and Jameson, seven.
Pink has long considered Australia a second home with her letting slip that she was ‘looking into’ possible citizenship in February 2023.
‘This is awesome, I will wear it proudly. It says Pink and it’s number one,’ a delighted Pink said
