Soccer fans have been left with a sour taste in their mouths after a mascot dressed as a BBQ sauce bottle swore at them at an A-League match

After a 5-1 thrashing at Central Coast Stadium, Newcastle Jets fans filmed themselves taunting the giant BBQ and tomato sauce Mariners mascots. 

The mascots were treated to a rowdy rendition of ‘Who are you?’ before the BBQ sauce threw the one finger salute to the crowd.

As the crowd becomes louder, the friendlier tomato sauce mascot can be seen spurring them on.

The camera pans to the BBQ sauce mascot, who is seen flipping the bird at the joyous Jets fans.

Clearly not impressed with the upsetting defeat, the BBQ mascot defiantly keeps his fingers raised as a few fans begin laughing.

After he drops his middle finger, one rowdy fan can be heard shouting ‘BBQ sauce is better!’.

The video has since been viewed over 20,000 times online, with many soccer fans finding the mascots hilarious.

‘Who said there was no culture in the A-League,’ one person wrote.

‘I don’t know what’s worse, the sauce bottle giving the finger or Jets fans chanting “who are ya?” to a sauce bottle,’ another said.
