Former NRL star-turned-media personality Beau Ryan revealed on Wednesday he had Botox injections ‘last year or the year before’.
The Footy Show host, 33, admitted on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that the non-surgical procedure left him unable to move his face.
‘I looked like Salim Mehajer for about a month!’ he said. ‘I couldn’t move my face at all. Kara [his wife] was like, “Are you angry or are you crying?”‘

Beau made the surprising confession while talking about fellow ex-footy player Braith Anasta’s recent nose job.
‘I did get [Botox] last year or the year before,’ explained the former Wests Tigers star.
‘I was filming a segment for the Footy Show and this lady says, “You should get your eyebrows waxed”. Anyway, I started doing it and she goes, “I do Botox [too]”.

Separated at birth? Beau claimed that he ‘looked like Salim Mehajer for about a month’ after getting Botox ‘last year or the year before’ while filming a segment for The NRL Footy Show. Pictured: Salim Mehajer arriving at the Downing Centre Local Courts in Sydney on June 22
‘So, she started doing it, like, in my forehead. I’ve got photos, I looked like Salim Mehajer for about a month!
‘I couldn’t move my face at all. Kara was like, “Are you angry or are you crying?”‘
Salim Mehajer – a convicted criminal and former Auburn deputy mayor – is rumoured to have undergone Botox injections and other cosmetic procedures in recent years.
Beau added: ‘The pain, I’m telling you – look, I’ve got a high pain threshold, playing footy and that – the pain to get these needles in the forehead. Oh, my God. It was one of the most painful things I’ve ever had.’
Unplanned! Beau explained his decision to undergo Botox was spontaneous, saying that a beautician who was waxing his eyebrows asked him if he was also interested in the non-surgical procedure. Pictured left: in May 2014, and right: earlier this month
Radio host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson responded by calling Beau a ‘wuss’ and insisted that Botox was not a painful procedure at all.
‘I’ve had Botox in the forehead and around the crow’s feet. It’s worn off now. But yeah it doesn’t hurt. No wonder women give birth and men don’t!’ she said.
Beau was co-presenting KIIS FM’s breakfast show on Tuesday morning as regular host Kyle Sandilands had called in sick.
‘I couldn’t move my face at all. Kara was like, “Are you angry or are you crying?”‘ Beau claimed that his wife Kara couldn’t discern his expressions because Botox had ‘frozen’ his face. Pictured: Kara and Beau last month
