Britain’s Got Talent judge Bruno Tonioli says the pressure to look good on television is as intense for men as it is for women.
The Italian dancer, who previously starred on Strictly and turns 69 this year, also believes that social media has made it even more difficult for male stars.
He said: ‘I think it’s as bad for men as it is for women because of all this Instagram stuff, you know what I mean? Especially for young men – it actually is as bad as it is for women.’
Tonioli has vowed to stay in shape with a strict exercise regime to ensure he can enjoy a long career.

‘I’m still alive, it’s fantastic, it’s never been better,’ he said. ‘It’s just accepting what is.
‘I’m not going to let myself go. Of course I do my exercises, I look after myself as much as I can. But obviously I’m not 20, it’s good to keep fit and it’s good striving to keep fit.
‘You have to find, embrace and make the most of what you have at the time. Look at Clint Eastwood, look at Kevin Costner, he’s my age.

‘Look at Brad Pitt, he’s getting better with age. It’s about how you feel. In your mind you’re still 27, you can keep the spirit alive.
‘But ageing is a privilege. It means that you have had a long life, and should treasure it.’
This year Tonioli celebrates 40 years of being in showbusiness. He got his first dance role at the Teatro Manzoni in Milan, in September 1974, and insists he will never ‘retire’.
