The Project star makes surprise return to the show after welcoming baby: ‘This is huge!’

The Project’s Tom Tilley returned to the show on Friday night just a week after welcoming his second child. 

The television host stunned his co-stars when he revealed his wife Amanda Griffith had given birth days ago.

‘We had a big week on the Tilley front. We had a baby last week’ he told the panel. 

‘Our second baby boy, his name is Henry. And 2.5-year-old Maxwell at home.’

‘This is huge! And the question needs to be asked… why aren’t you there?’ he was asked by his co-star Georgie Tunny.

‘Because this is easier!’ Tom Joked immediately. 

The TV star also shared the happy news on his Instagram page this week, posting images of Amanda and their two kids. 

‘Our second born son Henry Ellis Tilley arrived last week – happy, healthy and huge!’ he wrote in the caption. 

‘Amanda gave her body and soul in labour and Maxwell opened his arms in brotherly love… and me? Happy, and napping whenever possible (see pic 3)’.

Tom was a big part of Australia’s youth broadcaster Triple J before joining The Project in 2019.

He sold his two-bedroom Redfern investment property for nearly $1million back in 2021.

The 43-year-old journalist, who also owns a home in Bondi Beach, sold the modest red-brick unit for $930,000.

Tom had purchased the apartment for $542,000 in 2011, reports realestate.com.au.
