Lisa Wilkinson slammed Prince Andrew following his bombshell interview over his friendship with dead paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
The Duke of York sat down with Emily Maitlis on BBC Newsnight over the weekend to break his silence on his links with the disgraced financier.
On Sunday night, Wilkinson criticised the prince for what she claimed was his lack of concern for Epstein’s victims.
‘Well if that interview was meant to take the heat off Prince Andrew it’s going to do exactly the opposite,’ she said on Sunday night’s The Project.
‘The extraordinary thing is at the end he was asked “is there anything we’ve left out?” At no point in 60 minutes did he find the time to condemn child sex trafficking around the world or express any remorse for what’s happened to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein. Breathtaking,’ Wilkinson said.
The presenter’s choice words for the 59-year-old prince comes after he spoke publicly for the first time about Epstein, who was found dead earlier this year in a prison cell while being held on sex trafficking charges.

Prince Andrew admitted his relationship with the financier has been a ‘constant sore’ to his immediate family.
Asked what the appeal of Epstein was and why they became friends, Andrew said the financier ‘had the most extraordinary ability to bring extraordinary people together’.
The prince denied he ever had sex with the financier’s 17-year-old ‘sex slave’ Virginia Roberts, now Giuffre.
Prince Andrew maintained he does not recall meeting Roberts and did not spend time with her at Tramp Nightclub in London on March 10 in 2001, after which she claims the pair first had sex.
The eighth in line to the throne denied sleeping with her on three separate occasions.
He said the encounter in 2001 did not happen as he had taken his daughter Princess Beatrice to Pizza Express in Woking for a party, and they spent the rest of the day together.
The infamous photograph of Prince Andrew smiling as he stands with his left arm around the waist of a young Virginia Roberts has dogged him for years. It is alleged to have been taken in early 2001
A photograph showing Andrew with his arm around then 17-year-old Roberts, and with Epstein’s friend Ghislaine Maxwell standing in the background, has been widely published.
Supporters of Andrew, however, have disputed its authenticity.
The Duke of York said: ‘I was with the children and I’d taken Beatrice to a Pizza Express in Woking for a party at I suppose sort of 4 or 5 in the afternoon.
‘And then because the Duchess was away, we have a simple rule in the family that when one is away the other one is there.
‘I was on terminal leave at the time from the Royal Navy so therefore I was at home.’
Questioned why he remembers the evening so distinctly, Andrew said: ‘Because going to Pizza Express in Woking is an unusual thing for me to do, a very unusual thing for me to do.
‘I’ve only been to Woking a couple of times and I remember it weirdly distinctly.’
Roberts has previously described their alleged time together in London in vivid detail, claiming that Andrew had been ‘sweating’ as they danced together in the London nightclub.
But Andrew said: ‘There’s a slight problem with the sweating because I have a peculiar medical condition which is that I don’t sweat or I didn’t sweat at the time.
‘I didn’t sweat at the time because I had suffered what I would describe as an overdose of adrenalin in the Falkland’s War when I was shot at and it was almost impossible for me to sweat.
‘And it’s only because I have done a number of things in the recent past that I am starting to be able to do that again. So I’m afraid to say that there’s a medical condition that says that I didn’t do it.’
He added: ‘I’ve no recollection of ever meeting her, I’m almost, in fact I’m convinced that I was never in Tramps with her.
‘There are a number of things that are wrong with that story, one of which is that I don’t know where the bar is in Tramps.
‘I don’t drink, I don’t think I’ve ever bought a drink in Tramps whenever I was there.’
Andrew (left) also again rejects the claim by one of Epstein’s (right) victims, Virginia Roberts, that he had sex with her when she was 17
