The Queen is joined by members of her family for a church service in Sandringham

The Queen brought a splash of colour to a grey day when she stepped out in a vibrant, yellow ensemble for church in Sandringham this morning.

Her Majesty, 93, was joined by Prince Charles, 71, Princess Anne, 69, as well as her husband Sir Tim Lawrence, 64, a retired Royal Navy officer, and Prince Edward, 55, and 16-year-old Lady Louise Windsor.

Looking a picture of elegance, the Queen donned a lemon hat with a black rim and feathers, matching it with an eye-catching coat in the same shade.

Sitting next to the Countess of Wessex in the back seat of a car, the Queen appeared in excellent spirits as she arrived for the service at St Mary Magdalene Church, near the royal estate in Norfolk.

She accessorised with her signature pearls and an elegant brooch as she and her family made their way to the local church.

Still on her winter break, the monarch added a little more glamour to her ensemble by pairing her bright outfit with a vibrant pink lipstick and dainty pearl earrings.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 98, who was discharged from hospital on Christmas Eve, is still believed to be at Sandringham but did not attend church.

He had spent four nights at the King Edward VII Hospital in London to receive treatment for a ‘pre-existing condition’.

Also absent from the service was Prince Andrew, who is facing continued backlash over his friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, as well as his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

However, other family members were on hand to attend the service today including the Queen’s son Prince Edward who walked alongside his daughter Lady Louise Windsor.

Ahead of the pair was Prince Charles, who looked smart in a suit and coat, alongside Princess Anne and her husband Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence.

Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, was also in attendance and looked typically chic in a cream coat and chocolate coloured hat, adorned with striking feathers.

While both Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Cambridge family had attended the Christmas Day service earlier this week neither appeared to be present for church today.

The Queen arrived at the St Mary Magdalene Church, a short walk from Sandringham House, to hoards of well-wishers who had assembled in hope of catching a glimpse of the royals.
