The reason why an Aussie woman was forced to abruptly delete a seemingly innocent dolphin post

Controversial influencer Georgie Stevenson has deleted several posts from her Instagram Stories on Monday after receiving complaints from followers.

The Gold Coast-based beauty entrepreneur, 30, shared several photos of her visiting a dolphin exhibit at Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary, which ruffled some feathers.

Celebrity watchdog account Influencer.Updates.Au later confirmed Georgie had taken down the photographs after fans alleged the dolphins were being mistreated.

‘Georgie Stevenson deleted her stories yesterday after Warrior For Animals advised her of the poor treatment of the dolphins at Coffs Harbour wildlife sanctuary. She is now following the page,’ they claimed.

They shared the public complaint that Georgie allegedly received from WFA, which read: ‘I have politely reached over to Georgie to ask her to stop promoting cruel dolphin captivity.

‘These dolphins are in tiny pools and forced to perform and give rides, which is why we regularly protest.

‘You can see the dolphins are in a gross pool and the other pool is clean, and that’s where they are forced to perform.’

Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Coffs Harbour, NSW, and features a variety of rescued and injured animals that cannot be released back into the wild.

According to their website, they ‘work closely with the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) to ensure our animals’ welfare remains positive in the absence of our females rearing young.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Coffs Coast Wildlife Sanctuary for comment.

It is not the first time Georgie has come under fire over the past year.

In September 2023, the influencer sparked backlash after sharing a shocking theory on her health and wellness podcast, Rise & Conquer.

In the episode, which was later deleted, Georgie and her producer Atiyya Batty discussed whether or not ‘getting sick is a choice’.

‘She believes that getting sick is a choice… and your body gets presented with the virus and your subconscious chooses whether it wants to take the upgrade or not,’ Batty told Stevenson.

‘Oh my god, I one hundred per cent believe this!’ Georgie exclaimed.

The episode sparked a wave of backlash, with one listener writing: ‘Cool, they can tell that to my lupus. What a dangerous rhetoric. My god.’
