The secret hot son David Koch has been hiding as TV veteran prepares to exit Sunrise

Meet David Koch’s secret ‘hot son’ – and he is just as business savvy as his dad

Sunrise host David ‘Kochie’ Koch made the shock announcement on Monday morning he is leaving the hit show after 21 years to spend more time with his family.

Kochie, 67, has four children with his wife of 44 years, Libby, daughters Samantha, 42, Bree, 38, and Georgina, 32, and son Alexander, 35.

David’s hot son Alexander ‘AJ’ Kochie is just as business savvy as his iconic father, but is happy to work from behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera.

He has worked as the general manager for the Kochie-founded Pinstripe Media, a popular financial publisher and content agency, for 12 years.

With a full head of jet-black hair and matching beard, AJ is the spitting image of his father at a younger age.

He has his social media set to private and rarely makes public appearances, although Kochie proudly posted some heartwarming snaps to Facebook of his son’s wedding in 2018.

AJ cut a dashing figure on his wedding day in a smart tailored grey suit as he married his fiancée Carrie, in an intimate ceremony that Kochie and his family attended.

It comes after Kochie shocked viewers when he announced on Monday morning that he’s leaving the breakfast show after 21 years.

After making the surprise announcement, the 67-year-old revealed he’s walking away from the hit show to focus on his own businesses.

He also wants to enjoy more flexible work hours to spend time with his growing family.

‘It’s time for me to work business hours and for [wife] Libby and I to have a bit more flexibility to enjoy our burgeoning family, to travel and focus on our family business interests in Pinstripe Media and the Ausbiz business channel,’ he told viewers.

‘As everyone knows, I’m a finance nerd so you’ll still see me pop up every so often on RBA board meeting days or covering other big financial news, but as a guest rather than host.’

Kochie struggled to hold back the tears during his goodbye speech.

The longest-serving TV host in Australian history made the shock announcement, beside his emotional co-host Natalie Barr.

‘I have loved every single minute of it and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved here over the last 21 years,’ Kochie told viewers.
