The shockingly low success rate of MAFS couples REVEALED

In Australia, roughly 33 per cent of marriages will end in divorce.

With odds that risky, it’s no wonder desperate singles turn to shows like Married At First Sight and The Bachelor.

But an analysis of the four seasons of MAFS and the eight combined seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette by The Daily Telegraph raise glaring warning signs for the likes of Davina Rankin and Dean Wells.

Dean and Davina are doomed! The shockingly low success rate of Married At First Sight couples REVEALED… and why it pales in comparison to every other dating show

Statistics claim that The Married At First Sight pairing are almost certainly destined to fail, if that fact wasn’t already abundantly clear.

By the time the cameras have stopped rolling on the Channel Nine dating show, 46 per cent of the ‘marriages’ are still intact.

But when the show premieres a few months later, and Australia is introduced to the couples for the first time, 81 per cent of the unions are already done-and-dusted.

That’s less than one couple per season: Zoe Hendrix and Alex Garner (season one) and Erin Bateman and Bryce Mohr (season two).

However, if Dean and Davina, Telv Williams and Sarah Roza and John Robertson and Melissa Walsh had fallen in love outside of the show, stats show one partnership would still be standing.

If they wanted to increase their chances of finding the one, looking for love reality TV stars should turn to The Bachelor or The Bachelorette.

After eight seasons, 50 per cent of the couples are still together: Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski, Georgia Love and Lee Elliott and Laura Byrne and Matty J are still a thing.

Bringing down the average is Sam Frost, who appeared in one season of The Bachelor and one season of The Bachelorette, only to come up empty handed.

Wrong call! If John Robertson and Melissa Walsh (L) wanted to increase their chances of successu they would have turned to The Bachelor or The Bachelorette (like Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, R)

She lasted 18 months with Sasha Markoski, while Blake Garvey famously (and cruelly) dumped her just days after the show had finished airing.

Alexandra Nation and Richie Strahan, and Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy didn’t last too long either, but the exact length of their relationships varies from source-to-source.

Still punning along nicely: After eight seasons, 50 per cent of the couples are still together: Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski, Georgia Love and Lee Elliott (pictured) and Laura Byrne and Matty J are still a thing
