The staggering cost of Karl Stefanovic’s ‘highly secret’ 50th birthday bash – after spending $50,000 on wife Jasmine’s 40th

Karl Stefanovic had a ‘highly secretive’ birthday party in Saint-Tropez, France, according to a new report. 

The Today host, who was in Paris to cover the Olympic Games earlier this month, booked out a ritzy hotel, Woman’s Day claimed this week. 

The price tag for the bash was an incredible $200,000, the publication alleged, with James Packer and Anthony Bell among the A-list guests, a source claimed. 

‘He’d be thinking you only turn 50 once so let’s do this properly and go big!’ said the alleged insider. 

‘Much like the $50,000 he dropped for (wife) Jasmine’s 40th earlier this year, and the rumoured $10,000 birthday parties they have hosted for their four-year-old daughter Harper’ they continued. 

‘And then there was their $700,000 lavish Mexican nuptials – Karl has never done anything half-baked!’ 

The shindig was allegedly 1970s themed, with Karl’s wife Jasmine showing off her new designer dresses. 

It comes after initial reports that Karl was set to cancel his planned 50th bash in Paris.

Karl spared no expense when it came to his Jasmine’s birthday celebrations in Noosa earlier this year. 

The breakfast show host was said to have dropped a whopping $50,000 on a lavish event, Woman’s Day reported at the time.

Jasmine was dripping in designer items as she stepped out in an ensemble worth an eye-watering $5,575.

Sharing several snaps of the happy occasion to Instagram, the birthday girl looked incredibly glamorous for her big day in a $1,950 Zimmermann gown.

The stunning frock featured soft pastel hues along its twisted, knotted and draped silhouette.

Karl’s 18-year-old daughter Willow, who was studying in London and working at a Zimmermann store, reportedly helped Jasmine pick the dress out.

The socialite accessorised her jaw-dropping look with a pair of $2,200 silver Prada platform heels, a $725 Simkhai silver shell clutch, and $700 Dior sunglasses.

Touted by close friends as ‘the party to end all parties’, Karl went so far as to hire wedding event planners to organise the two-day long party.

After celebrating the life of Jasmine at Bistro C, Karl continued to spoil his love and kept the party going back at their $7million Sunshine Coast mansion where he had DJs, drummers and a Mexican food truck waiting. 

The party reportedly lasted for about two days, with a ‘recovery shindig’ taking place which was allegedly worth $10,000. 

A close friend of the lovebirds said ‘Karl is an old romantic’ and was more than happy to treat his wife to a lavish party as thanks for giving him ‘so much happiness and a whole new lease on life’. 

Guests in attendance included the likes of Richard Wilkins, Sarah Abo, Sylvia Jeffreys, Pete Stefanovic, Belinda Russell, Grant Kenny, and Anthony Bell.
